REFUND POLICY

Mahatejas Trust (“the Trust”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a public charitable trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882 (Registration No. 2024/IGR015/4/2274), with its registered office at Flat #A-105, 1st Floor, Pride Living Apartment, Himadri Path, Bora Service, Guwahati, Kamrup Metro, Assam – 781007.

This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which refunds may be considered for donations, membership contributions, and other payments made to Mahatejas Trust through our website or other authorized channels.

1. Donations

All donations made to Mahatejas Trust are voluntary contributions and are generally non-refundable.

Once a donation has been successfully processed, it cannot ordinarily be cancelled or refunded, as the funds may be allocated towards the charitable objects and activities of the Trust.

However, a refund may be considered in cases of a genuine transaction error, such as:

• Duplicate payment made accidentally.

• An incorrect amount being charged due to a technical or payment-processing error.

• Any other genuine transaction-related error that can be reasonably verified.

Requests for refunds due to a transaction error must be submitted within 7 days of the transaction along with valid proof of payment and details of the transaction.

All refund requests will be reviewed by Mahatejas Trust, and the decision regarding the eligibility and amount of any refund shall be at the discretion of the Trust, subject to applicable law and verification of the transaction.

2. Membership Fees and Contributions

General Membership fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

The one-time contribution paid for Life Time Membership is non-refundable, including in cases of voluntary withdrawal, relocation, or termination of membership by the Trust for valid cause.

3. Refund Request Process

To request a refund for a genuine transaction error, please contact us within 7 days of the transaction with the following information:

• Full name of the donor/member.

• Email address and phone number used for the transaction.

• Date of the transaction.

• Amount paid.

• Transaction ID / payment reference number.

• Reason for requesting the refund.

• Valid proof of the transaction, such as a payment confirmation or bank statement, where applicable.

4. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved, it will generally be processed through the original payment method used for the transaction, subject to the policies and processing timelines of the relevant payment gateway or financial institution.

The time taken for the refunded amount to appear in the donor's or member's account may vary depending on the payment provider or bank.

Mahatejas Trust shall not be responsible for delays caused by banks, payment gateways, or other third-party financial institutions.

5. Tax Receipts and 80G Certificates

Where a donation receipt has already been issued, the Trust may require appropriate correction, cancellation, or adjustment of the receipt in connection with an approved refund, as applicable.

Tax exemption benefits, if any, shall be subject to the Trust's eligibility and registration under applicable law.

6. Third-Party Payment Gateways

Payments made through third-party payment gateways are subject to the applicable terms and policies of those payment service providers.

Mahatejas Trust does not store card, UPI, or net-banking credentials. Such payment information is processed by the relevant secure third-party payment gateway.

7. Changes to This Refund Policy

Mahatejas Trust reserves the right to amend, modify, or update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable laws, or payment procedures.

Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective Date.”
